Ana has a strong background in basic and translational biomedical research with 10 years’ experience as a post-doctoral researcher and Research Fellow from Sweden and United Kingdom. Her research has focussed on understanding complications of pregnancy and the impact this has on the developing fetal and neonatal brain. Upon completing her PhD at Monash University, Australia she moved to University of Gothenburg and in 2014, relocated to King’s College London. During this time she worked in the fields of perinatal brain injury, fetal physiology, neuroimaging and neurodevelopmental disorders.
Ana has recently moved back to Melbourne and her key drive is to identify and implement evidence-based change to enable improved health outcomes. She is passionate about promoting STEM careers and is active in running science communication and public outreach activities for the wider community.
